On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the top American diplomat offered traditional prayers and sought blessings from the iconic Lord Ganesha idol, marking a significant moment of cultural diplomacy.

The historic Lalbaugcha Raja Ganapati idol, managed by the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal since its establishment in 1934, remains an integral center for Mumbai’s festive spirit. The stunning artistry of the idol has been maintained continuously by the Kambli family for over eight decades. Ambassador Gor’s visit coincides with the kickoff of the grand ten-day Vinayak Chaturthi festivities, during which millions of devotees gather to worship the deity regarded as the ‘Remover of Obstacles’ and the ‘God of New Beginnings’.
