Jamui Teen Harassment Case: Five Arrested After Viral Video

 JAMUI, BIHAR — September 22, 2026: Police in Bihar’s Jamui district have arrested five people in connection with an alleged harassment and molestation incident involving two Class 10 students, after a video of the incident circulated widely on social media.

The incident reportedly took place on September 19 when the teenage boy and girl were returning from coaching classes. According to police, a group stopped the two on the road and allegedly assaulted and harassed them.

A video recorded during the incident later surfaced online, prompting public outrage and police action. Authorities said the footage helped investigators identify several people allegedly involved.

Police Form Special Investigation Team

Following the emergence of the video, Jamui Police formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to identify and arrest those allegedly involved.

Police initially arrested three people in connection with the case. The investigation subsequently led to the arrest of two more suspects on September 22, taking the total number of arrests to five, according to police officials.

Police said more people may be questioned or arrested as the investigation continues. Officials have reportedly identified several individuals from the video footage.

Case Registered Under POCSO

The case has been registered under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act along with relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), according to reports.

Authorities have also taken steps to investigate the circulation of the video and protect the identities of the minor victims.

Police have urged people not to share or circulate videos that reveal the identities or personal details of the minors.

Latest Arrests

On Tuesday, police arrested alleged key accused Nandan Yadav following an encounter, according to police officials. He reportedly suffered a gunshot injury to his leg. Another accused, identified as Hareram Yadav, was also arrested and was reported to have been injured while attempting to flee. Both were taken to hospital for treatment.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police have indicated that further action could follow as they examine the available evidence.
