BRICS 2026: ‘No Crisis Remains Confined’ – PM Modi Outlines Breakthrough Early-Warning and Supply-Chain Frameworks

 NEW DELHI: Addressing the pivotal open session on Day 2 of the 18th BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi placed predictive security and cross-border resilience at the center of the alliance’s global agenda. Modi warned world leaders that in today’s hyper-interconnected world, “no crisis remains confined to a single region,” noting that regional disruptions rapidly cascade into global economic and humanitarian shocks.

To mitigate these expanding vulnerabilities—ranging from severe climate disasters to sudden trade bottlenecks—the Prime Minister unveiled a series of landmark collective frameworks designed to transition BRICS from a reactive bloc to a proactive shield:

• BRICS Integrated Early Warning System: Member nations have officially reached a historic consensus to deploy a collaborative network focused on the early detection, prevention, and response to infectious disease outbreaks.

• Disaster Management Data Guidelines: New protocols for integrating real-time climate and tectonic data have been formulated to enable swift, unified multi-nation rescue and preventive actions.

• Resilient Logistics Framework: The newly introduced ‘BRICS Logistic Supply Chain Cooperation Framework’ aims to shield crucial shipping lanes and trade networks from sudden market shocks and geopolitical coercion.

Speaking in the presence of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, PM Modi also sounded a stern note against the “weaponisation of emerging technology and critical minerals,” arguing that using crucial industrial inputs as political leverage severely paralyzes inclusive growth for the Global South.
